Adenosine deaminase (EC: Adenosine deaminase ADA) is an important enzyme in purine nucleoside metabolism. It belongs to sulfhydryl enzyme. Each molecule contains at least 2 active sulfhydryl groups. Its activity can completely inhibit chloromercuric acid. ADA deaminates adenosine to produce hypoxanthine and ammonia (NH3). ADA can also catalyze the conversion of adenine nucleoside to hypoxanthine nucleoside, and then generate hypoxanthine through the action of nucleoside phosphorylase, and the end product of its metabolism is uric acid.

Adenosine deaminase is a kind of nucleic acid metabolic enzyme that has an important relationship with the body’s cellular immune activity. The determination of ADA and its isozyme levels in blood and body fluids has been paid more and more attention to the diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and immune function of some diseases.


ADA activity is a sensitive indicator of liver injury, and can be used as one of the routine examination items of liver function. The liver zymogram composed of ADA activity and ALT or GGT can comprehensively reflect the enzymatic changes of liver disease.

Storage conditions: at least one year at – 20 ℃ and two years at – 80 ℃;


Re-dissolution: pure water containing 20% glycerol can be used for re-dissolution, which can be stored at 4 ℃ for about one year; The protein solution can be stored at – 20 ℃ for a longer time after being sub-packed according to the dosage, and repeated freezing and thawing shall be avoided as much as possible.
